Welcome

I have a beautiful blended family with four children, all now grown. Two of our children have special needs, so I am a parent that understands and appreciates the challenges ensuring they receive all the resources necessary to thrive.

Caring for children has been a priority for me throughout my adult life. Having worked with children now for over twenty years, this passion arose while teaching preschoolers thru third graders as a Sunday Bible School teacher at my church with First Baptist from 1994 to 2000.

My higher education career began at Wharton County Junior College where I earned an A.A.S. degree in dental science as a registered dental hygienist in 1994, and a course concentration in nursing. After practicing for close to eleven years, the birth of my two children helped evolve my career path. My passion was clearly in nurturing children.

Education continued to be a priority, and in 2001 I earned a degree in nutrition from The Victoria College. This led to formal training in Early Childhood Development. Then in 2004 I had the privilege of opening and directing a home daycare, licensed under the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. My dedication to children continued to flourish.

My pursuit for excellence in working with wonderful children and their families encouraged me to earn my B.A.A.S. in Business from the University of Houston in 2011. This achievement assisted me in continuing to serve families in the Victoria area by opening and operating a licensed child care center.

 I have had the privilege of residing in the Buda area for close to a decade and have brought my passion and experience for childcare and development with me. The Sunshine Cottage Preschool and Development Center was established by me, to deliver quality care in a loving, safe, educational environment to the children and families of Buda and the surrounding area.

I am a dedicated wife, mother of four in a blended family, and an Early Childhood Education professional with over 18 years of experience. My journey began as a two-year-old teacher, where I quickly discovered a deep passion for guiding young children through their earliest learning experiences.  Through on going training, mentorship, and earning my Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, I grew into a role of Advanced Pre-K Master Teacher, specializing in Conscious Guidance- a respectful, intentional approach to child development and behavior. 

Driven by the desire to make a broader impact, I continued my education and professional development with the goal of stepping into leadership. Today my mission remains rooted in helping every child learn and grow through playin a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment. As a leader, I strive to support and inspire both children and educators, creating a preschool community where families feel confident, children thrive, and teachers are empowered.

I was born and raised in Austin, TX, and began my career in early childhood education, as a toddler teacher, over 20 years ago. Since then I have had years of experience working with children of all ages. I began working at Sunshine Cottage Preschool, as an infant teacher, in 2018. I moved into an administrative assistant position in 2022, and had the pleasure of taking the Assistant Director role in early 2024. I am committed to helping provide a safe, loving, and welcoming environment, for all of our children, staff, and families.

I was born in Austin Texas, and raised here in the Kyle / Buda. I am the oldest of five siblings, and the mother of two beautiful children. My passion has always been with children and their development. In 2015 I began working here at Sunshine Cottage Preschool.  I have acquired my Child Development Associates in early childhood development and education. Later I received my National Administrator Credential for business management of licensed child care centers in Texas.
